Professor Boeun Lee's research lab specializes in medical image analysis and robotics, with a focus on improving clinical outcomes through advanced imaging techniques and intelligent motion planning. The lab investigates radiological biomarkers—such as temporalis muscle thickness and vascular permeability—using CT and MRI to predict survival and disease progression in cancer patients, particularly in head and neck squamous cell carcinoma and brain tumors. In parallel, the lab develops analytical and heuristic approaches for time-varying obstacle avoidance in robotic systems, aiming to enhance safety and efficiency in dynamic environments. These interdisciplinary efforts bridge medical imaging, computational modeling, and robotics to support precision medicine and autonomous systems.
