Professor Byung-Joon Kim's research lab specializes in medicinal chemistry and translational pharmacology, with a focus on developing novel therapeutic strategies for metabolic and cerebrovascular diseases. The lab investigates the role of gut hormones such as PYY and GLP-1 in metabolic regulation and their potential in treating type 2 diabetes, particularly in mitigating bone loss associated with long-term use of thiazolidinediones (TZDs).
