研究室紹介

Professor Chang Beom Park's research lab specializes in cardiovascular interventional medicine and biomaterials engineering, with a primary focus on interventional cardiology, particularly the mechanisms, prediction, and management of in-stent restenosis following percutaneous coronary intervention. The lab investigates clinical and angiographic predictors of restenosis, especially diffuse-type in-stent restenosis, and explores the role of imaging and risk stratification in non-ST-elevation myocardial infarction. Additionally, the lab contributes to advanced materials science through the development of high-performance organic thin-film transistors using novel hybrid insulator structures for next-generation flexible electronics.

Predictors of diffuse-type in-stent restenosis following drug-eluting stent implantation
Chang‐Bum Park, Hoon-Ki Park
Experimental and Therapeutic MedicineOA

Diffuse-type in-stent restenosis (ISR) is known to be associated with a higher rate of restenosis than focal-type ISR. Therefore, it is clinically important to identify the determinants of diffuse-type ISR following drug-eluting stent (DES) implantation. We investigated the clinical, procedural and angiographic variables for predicting diffuse-type ISR following DES implantation. A total of 173 ISR lesions in 159 patients (diffuse-type: 61 lesions, focal-type: 112 lesions) following DES implanta

Paraplegia due to Acute Aortic Coarctation and Occlusion
Chang‐Bum Park, Dae-Jean Jo, Min-Ki Kim, Sang Hyun Kim
SJR Q2Journal of Korean Neurosurgical SocietyOA

Coarctation and occlusion of the aorta is a rare condition that typically presents with hypertension or cardiac failure. However, neuropathy or myelopathy may be the presenting features of the condition when an intraspinal subarachnoid hemorrhage has compressed the spinal cord causing ischemia. We report two cases of middle-aged males who developed acute non-traumatic paraplegia. Undiagnosed congenital abnormalities, such as aortic coarctation and occlusion, should be considered for patients pre

Massive right coronary air embolism in the right coronary artery during left coronary angiography: A case report

Experimental and Therapeutic MedicineOA

Coronary air embolism is one of the inadvertent complications of coronary angiography. We report a case of unexpected massive right coronary air embolism during left coronary angiography with a JL4 diagnostic catheter. This report demonstrates that air embolism may occur in the contralateral coronary artery and therefore complete air aspiration must be ensured during coronary angiography.

Pentacene‐based thin film transistors with improved mobility characteristics using hybrid gate insulator
Chang‐Bum Park, Keum‐Dong Jung, Sung Hun Jin, Byung‐Gook Park, Jong Duk Lee
SJR Q1Journal of Information DisplayOA

Abstract Hybrid insulator pentacene thin film transistors (TFTs) are fabricated with thermally grown oxide and cross‐linked polyvinylalcohol (PVA) including surface treatment by dilute ploymethylmethacrylate (PMMA) layer on n+ doped silicon wafer. Through the optimization of SiO2 layer thickness in hybrid insulator structure, carrier mobility is increased to more than 35 times than that of the TFT which has only a gate insulator of SiO2 at the same electric field. The carrier mobility of 1.80 cm

Identification of independent risk factors for restenosis following bare-metal stent implantation: Role of bare-metal stents in the era of drug-eluting stents
Chang‐Bum Park, Hoon-Ki Park
Experimental and Therapeutic MedicineOA

In the era of drug-eluting stents (DESs), the ability of clinicians to predict which patients have a low risk of coronary restenosis following bare-metal stent (BMS) implantion is likely to be of benefit. The study population consisted of 2,711 patients who underwent BMS implantation in 3,770 lesions between 1995 and 2004. With clinical and 6 month follow-up angiographic data, we retrospectively sought to identify the independent risk predictors of restenosis, applied a previously proposed predi

Comparative clinical implications of admission electrocardiographic findings for patients with non-ST-segment elevation myocardial infarction

SJR Q3MedicineOA

Early risk stratification is crucial for appropriate management using invasive strategies in non-ST elevation myocardial infarction (NSTEMI), and electrocardiography (ECG) has been widely used for risk stratification. However, ECG findings in NSTEMI vary, and there is a need to define the clinical characteristics and outcomes according to ECG.We analyzed the admission ECGs of 345 NSTEMI patients who underwent coronary angiography from 2006 to 2013. Demographics, procedural characteristics, and c

BACKGROUND: Drug-eluting stents (DES) have been shown to reduce the need for repeat revascularization compared with bare metal stents (BMS). However, there is little information regarding the safety and long-term efficacy of DES in patients with acute myocardial infarction (AMI). HYPOTHESIS: The aim of this study was to evaluate the safety and efficacy of DES in patients with AMI. METHODS: Data from 211 consecutive patients with AMI treated with DES were compared with those from 228 consecutive

Coronary artery ectasia presenting as acute coronary syndrome and misinterpreted as coronary artery perforation: Case report
Hong Ki Jeon, Jin Man Cho, In‐Ho Yang, Narae Kim, Chang-Bum Park
SJR Q3MedicineOA

RATIONALE: Coronary artery ectasia (CAE), characterized by diffuse dilation, can be associated with total thrombotic occlusion, leading to acute coronary syndrome. In such cases, distal vessel morphology can be highly unpredictable, potentially causing confusion during percutaneous coronary intervention (PCI). PATIENT CONCERNS: A 47-year-old man presented with sudden chest pain. Acute coronary syndrome was suspected based on symptom and elevated troponin I levels. DIAGNOSES: Coronary angiography

Pneumopericardium after pericardiostomy

SJR Q2Journal of the Formosan Medical AssociationOA

An 81-year-old woman presented to our hospital with complaints of abdominal discomfort and mild dyspnea. The chest radiograph showed cardiomegaly, and echocardiographic findings showed a moderate to severe pericardial effusion. Pericardiostomy through the subxiphoid area was performed, and 600 mL of hemorrhagic pericardial fluid was aspirated and a chest tube was inserted at the pericardial sac. On the next day, the patient became asymptomatic; her blood pressure was 113/66 mmHg and heart rate w

A transient enhanced external capacitor-less LDO with a CMOS only sub-bandgap voltage reference
Chang‐Bum Park, Jung Chan-Kyeong, Shin-Il Lim

This paper presents an external capacitor-less low-dropout(LDO) regulator with a voltage spike detection circuit for the enhanced transition response and with a CMOS only sub-bandgap voltage reference(BGR) operated in subthreshold region. CMOS sub-BGR adopted a weighted Vgs structure and a body bias technique for reducing the variations from process, voltage and temperature (PVT). The proposed LDO achieved the PSRR of -96dB at DC and -34dB at 1MHz by using 3-stage configuration. The proposed LDO
