Professor Chang Ho Shin's research lab specializes in nuclear physics and biomedical engineering, focusing on experimental nuclear reactions and their applications in medical diagnostics and orthopedic treatments. The lab investigates nuclear reactions such as ($^{3}$He,p) and (t,p) to probe nuclear structure and validate theoretical models like the pairing vibration model. In parallel, the lab conducts clinical research on pediatric orthopedic conditions, particularly arthroscopic fixation techniques for tibial eminence fractures and innovative implant designs for osteogenesis imperfecta. The integration of advanced imaging, molecular diagnostics, and surgical innovation underscores the lab’s interdisciplinary approach to improving patient outcomes in musculoskeletal disorders and viral infections.
