Professor Cheol Min Lee's research lab focuses on the fundamental characterization of solid acid catalysts, particularly zeolites, using calorimetric techniques to understand structure-acidity relationships. The lab investigates the adsorption behavior and proton affinity correlations of basic molecules on zeolitic frameworks, contributing to the development of quantitative acidity scales. Additionally, the lab explores the societal and behavioral impacts of emerging tobacco products, such as heated tobacco and e-cigarettes, in South Korea, examining their influence on smoking cessation and public health policy. The research bridges materials science and public health, emphasizing both molecular-level insights and real-world behavioral trends.

15We have used microcalorimetry to measure the differential heats of adsorption of both a series of alkylamines and a series of substituted pyridines in H-ZSM-5 and H-Mordenite. 연구배경 흡연은 각종 악성 종양의 원인이며 심혈관 질환의 주요 위험요인으로 잘 알려져 있고 , 금연 상담과 금연보조제를 통한 금연 치료의 효과가 입증되어있다 . 남성 성인의 흡연율은 2005년도 50.3%로 여전히 높은 상태이며 , 국가에서는 보건소 금연 시범사업을 2004년에 10개 지역을 대상으로 실시하였다 . 이 연구는 금연 클리닉을 방문한 남성들에서의 단기 및 장기 금연성공에 따른 요인을 분석하여 향후 보건소 및 일반 금연 클리닉에서 금연 성공률을 높일 수 있는 자료를 제시하고자 한다 . 방 법 2004년 10월부터 3개월 간 등록한 721명 중 여성과 의료급여 대상자를 제외한 657명의 인구사회학적 요인과 흡연 행태를 조사하였으며 초기 6주간은 대면 상담 , 니코틴 대체요법, bupropion을 제공하고, 서비스 만족도를 조사하였다 . 이후 6개월 까지 전화, 문자 메시지, 이메일을 통한 금연 유지 프로그램을 제공하였다 . 금연 시작 4주, 6개월 째 금연 성공 여부를 파악
