The authors investigate the relationship between the classification error and the Bhattacharyya distance of two normally distributed classes and propose a new equation that provides an accurate error estimation for the Gaussian ML classifier. With the error estimation equation, it is possible to estimate the classification error within a 1-2% margin.

이 연구는 가구주와 배우자의 임금, 고용, 근로시간, 그리고 기타소득과 가 구구조 등, 가구소득을 구성하는 각 요인들이 1996년과 2000년 사이 가구소 득불평등도의 증가에 미친 효과를 분석하였다. 연구 결과는 가구주 임금불평 등의 확대가 외환위기 이후 가구소득불평등 증가의 거의 70%를 설명한다는 것을 보여준다. 가구주 노동공급의 변화도 가구소득불평등 변화의 34%를 설 명하는 중요한 요인이었다. 반면 배우자의 노동공급 변화는 가구소득불평등 의 증가를 21% 낮추는 강력한 상쇄요인으로 작용하였다.

합계출산율의 변화를 분해한 분석결과는 1991년 이후 우리나라 합계출산율 감소가 주로 유배우 여성 비율의 감소에 의해 초래되었다는 것을 보여준다. 전체 여성을 대상으로 할 경우 유배우 비율의 감소는 합계출산율 감소의 100% 이상을 설명하며, 유배우 출산율의 증가가 그 효과의 일부를 상쇄한 것으로 나타났다. 2005년 이후에는 유배우 출산율 증가의 효과가 유배우 비율 감소의 효과를 압도함으로써 합계출산율이 약간 상승했던 것으로 분석된다. 학력을 나누어 학력변화의 효과를 제거하는 경우에도 유배우 비율의 변화는 합계출산율 감소의 대부분을 설명한다. 1992년~2005년 시군구별 유배우 여성 비율과 유배우 출산율 자료를 이용한 분석결과에 따르면 유배우 비율이 유배우 출산율과 약하지만 통계적으로 유의한 음의 관계를 보인다. 이 결과로 미루어 볼 때 지난 20년 동안 우리나라 합계출산율을 감소시킨 주된 요인이었던 유배우 여성 비율의 감소는 출산의 결정과 무관한 요인에 의해 초래되었을 가능성이

이 연구에서는 현재 정부에서 추진 중인 우리 국민의 나트륨 섭취량 감소 정책의 비용·편익 분석을 수행하기 위해, 나트륨 과다섭취에 의해 영향을 받는 대표적인 질병들을 대상으로 하여 나트륨 섭취량 감소로 인한 사회·경제적인 편익과 비용 추정을 국내 최초로 시도하였다. 우리 국민의 평균 나트륨 섭취량을 2009년 현재 수준인1인 1일 4.7 g에서 3 g으로 낮출 경우의 비용·편익 분석결과를 요약하면 다음과 같다. 1. 의료비용 절감, 노동손실비용 감소, 사망으로 인한 소득및 후생손실의 감소 등을 모두 포함하는 나트륨 섭취량 감소정책의 총 편익은 연간 12조 6,000억 원으로 추정되었다. 2. 우리나라에서 나트륨 섭취량 감소 정책을 시행할 경우 약 1,490억 원의 비용이 소요될 것으로 추정되었고, 비용 추정이 정확하지 않을 수 있는 가능성을 고려하여 약 125억 원부터 약 1조 3000억 원까지의 매우 넓은 범위의 추정치를고려하였다. 3. 나트륨 섭취량 감소 정책의 효과가 5년에 걸
