Professor Da Mi Park's research lab specializes in computational mental health and natural language processing, focusing on the early detection and assessment of depression using social media text. The lab develops advanced NLP models to classify user-generated content based on clinical diagnostic criteria, such as the Patient Health Questionnaire-9 (PHQ-9), enabling automated, real-time monitoring of mental health symptoms. A key research direction involves building interpretable and scalable AI systems that support population-level mental health surveillance and intervention.
