Professor Da Won Park's research lab focuses on translational and clinical studies in internal medicine, with a strong emphasis on chronic disease mechanisms, systemic inflammation, and surgical outcomes. The lab investigates cardiovascular and metabolic risk factors in smoking behaviors, including dual use of e-cigarettes and conventional cigarettes, as well as the neuroendocrine responses to osmotic stress in the hypothalamus. Additionally, the lab explores autoimmune and allergic diseases, such as systemic lupus erythematosus and Th2-mediated inflammation, with a focus on novel therapeutic targets like thymic stromal lymphopoietin (TSLP). The lab also contributes to advancing minimally invasive surgical techniques, particularly transoral robotic thyroid surgery, by evaluating perioperative outcomes and complications in obese and non-obese patients.

BACKGROUND: We evaluated the outcomes of patients with papillary thyroid carcinoma (PTC) who underwent transoral robotic thyroidectomy (TORT).
