Professor Dae Hyun Lim's research lab specializes in respiratory immunology and airway disease pathogenesis, with a focus on the mechanisms underlying pediatric and adult interstitial lung diseases, allergic airway disorders, and airway remodeling. The lab investigates the roles of key inflammatory mediators such as IL-33, matrix metalloproteinases (MMPs), and signaling molecules like PI3Kgamma in driving type 2 immune responses and structural lung changes. A major research direction involves understanding environmental triggers—such as humidifier disinfectants—linked to severe pediatric lung injury and evaluating their clinical and public health impact. The lab employs translational mouse models and clinical epidemiology to bridge basic immunology with clinical respiratory diseases.
