Professor Dayoung Ko's research lab specializes in clinical and translational studies focusing on rare and complex medical conditions, with a strong emphasis on dermatological and gastrointestinal disorders. The lab investigates the etiology, diagnosis, and management of rare nail disorders such as onychogryphosis and Beau lines, as well as pediatric chronic intestinal pseudo-obstruction and complications of medical interventions like endovascular aneurysm repair and BCG vaccination. The research also explores medical terminology standardization across regions, particularly in the context of Korean medical language divergence. The lab integrates clinical observation with evidence-based analysis to improve patient outcomes and clinical understanding of underrecognized conditions.

Despite the small numbers, the outcomes of EVAR for treatment of r-AAA were very promising, even in selected cases with unfavorable anatomy. These outcomes were achieved by a dedicated and well-trained team approach, and by use of high-end angiographic technology. Finally, ACS after EVAR is not uncommon, and requires a high index of suspicion as well as liberal use of decompressive surgery.
