Professor Dongil Choi's research lab specializes in diagnostic and interventional radiology, with a strong focus on liver diseases, particularly hepatocellular carcinoma (HCC). The lab investigates image-guided ablation techniques such as radiofrequency ablation, evaluates advanced medical imaging modalities—including MRI, CT, and contrast-enhanced ultrasound—for early detection and treatment response assessment, and explores risk factors and complications associated with liver interventions. The lab also investigates infectious disease links, such as toxocariasis related to dietary habits, reflecting a multidisciplinary approach to liver health and patient outcomes.
