Professor Duck-kyung Kim's research lab focuses on translational biomedical and veterinary immunology, with a strong emphasis on angiogenesis, wound healing, and host defense mechanisms against infectious diseases. The lab investigates the therapeutic potential of natural compounds—such as garlic metabolites, curcumin, and anethole—in enhancing immune responses and improving outcomes in coccidiosis and peripheral arterial disease. Key research directions include endothelial progenitor cell therapy, gene therapy using VEGF plasmid DNA, and the role of genetic polymorphisms (e.g., ACE I/D) in fibrinolysis and disease susceptibility.
