研究室紹介
Professor Eun Jung Lee's research lab focuses on neurodegenerative diseases, particularly Parkinson’s disease, with an emphasis on the role of alpha-synuclein and matrix metalloproteinases (MMPs) in neuroinflammation and microglial activation. The lab also investigates the therapeutic potential of bioactive peptides, such as β-LAP, in mitigating neuroinflammatory and oxidative stress responses. Additionally, the lab contributes to clinical neuroscience through the development of predictive scoring systems for asymptomatic intracranial meningiomas, aiming to improve risk stratification and treatment decisions. The integration of molecular mechanisms with clinical applications defines the lab’s translational research approach.

PURPOSE: To investigate capillary densities in patients with unilateral normal-tension glaucoma (NTG) and normal controls using optical coherence tomography-angiography. MATERIALS AND METHODS: We recruited 13 patients with unilateral NTG and 13 healthy controls. Optical coherence tomography-angiography was performed and pure peripapillary retinal capillary density was calculated after manually excluding large vessels and the optic disc. Paired comparison of capillary densities was performed amon
Although having the same IOP-related factors, if diurnal fluctuation is included, different results may be found on the relationship between IOP-related factors and NTG progression. Based on our results, diurnal fluctuation in IOP should be considered when IOP-related factors are studied in the future.
The effects of Dy addition on the electrical properties of BaTiO3 have been studied by analyzing equilibrium electrical conductivity as a function of temperature, oxygen partial pressure (Po2) and composition. In(Ba1-xDyx)TiO3+0.5x, the conductivity follows the -1/4th power dependence of Po2 at high oxygen activities, which supports the notion that cation vacancies are generated to compensate for Dy donors, and is nearly independent of Po2 where electron compensation prevails at a low Po2. The i
Background: Recent studies suggest an association between diabetes and increased risk of heart failure (HF). However, the associations among obesity status, glycemic status, and risk of HF are not known. In this study, we analyzed whether the risk of HF increases in participants according to baseline glycemic status and whether this increased risk is associated with obesity status. Methods: We analyzed the risk of HF according to baseline glycemic status (normoglycemia, impaired fasting glucose
High-temperature electrical conductivities and leakage current behaviors of Dy-doped, and Dy and Mn codoped BaTiO3 were investigated as a function of Ba/Ti ratio. Dy-doped BaTiO3 specimens showed higher leakage currents under a continuously applied dc field stress at 150°C than undoped BaTiO3. The highest initial leakage current was observed with Ba(Ti0.98Dy0.02)O2.99. The equilibrium electrical conductivity of Ba(Ti0.985Dy0.01Mn0.005)O3 is proportional to Po2-1/4 in the n-type region, and Po2+1
In glaucomatous eyes with PPRS, the increase in PPRS temporally correlated with glaucoma progression. Possible glaucoma progression may be considered around the time of increase and de novo development of PPRS.
Purpose: To compare the local distribution of prelaminar and neuroretinal rim (NRR) thickness between eyes with nonarteritic anterior ischemic optic neuropathy (NAION) and normal tension glaucoma (NTG) using enhanced depth imaging spectral-domain optical coherence tomography (OCT). Methods: This cross-sectional study included pairs of NAION and NTG patients, and controls. We measured the central prelaminar thickness; Bruch's membrane opening (BMO)-horizontal (HRW), minimal (MRW), and vertical ri
