Professor Geunjong Jeong's research lab specializes in clinical pharmacology and pain medicine, with a focus on neuroprotective agents and novel therapeutic strategies for neuropathic pain. The lab investigates the neuroprotective and anti-inflammatory effects of natural compounds such as protocatechuic acid in seizure-induced brain injury, while also exploring innovative treatments for postherpetic neuralgia and postoperative nausea and vomiting. A key research direction involves evaluating the efficacy and safety of sedation protocols in elderly patients undergoing spinal or general anesthesia, particularly in relation to age-related physiological changes. The lab integrates preclinical and clinical research to develop targeted, safer interventions for pain and perioperative complications.
