Professor Grant Fisher's research lab focuses on health services research, clinical decision-making, and the social and ethical dimensions of medical practice. Key research directions include medication adherence in heart transplant patients, outcomes and selection criteria in cardiac retransplantation, and the evaluation of recruitment processes in public health training. The lab also investigates systemic issues in healthcare workplaces, such as bullying in nursing, and contributes to philosophy of science, particularly in the explanation and evidential reasoning in chemistry and medicine.

This chapter advances a contextual view of evidence, through a reconsideration of Hempel's paradox of confirmation (the ‘ravens paradox’).
