Professor Ha-Jae Choi's research lab specializes in neurological imaging and the pathophysiology of toxic brain injury, with a particular focus on carbon monoxide (CO) poisoning. The lab investigates the correlation between structural brain changes observed on MRI and functional metabolic alterations detected via FDG-PET, especially in regions critical for memory such as the hippocampus and globus pallidus. Their work aims to improve diagnostic accuracy and understand the mechanisms underlying cognitive deficits following toxic exposure. The lab also contributes to clinical neuroscience by integrating advanced neuroimaging techniques to evaluate long-term neurological outcomes.
