Professor Ha-na Oh's research lab specializes in nutritional epidemiology and preventive medicine, focusing on the long-term impacts of dietary patterns and micronutrient status on chronic disease risk. The lab investigates causal relationships between diet, biomarkers such as vitamin D, and cardiometabolic outcomes—including type 2 diabetes, hypertension, and mortality—using advanced epidemiological methods like Mendelian randomization and meta-analysis. A key research direction involves assessing the role of ultra-processed foods and dietary quality in population health across the Korean population. The lab integrates large-scale national survey data with genetic and clinical biomarkers to inform public health policy.
