Professor Haijeon Yoon's research lab specializes in nuclear medicine and molecular imaging, with a focus on improving cancer prognosis and treatment response prediction through advanced medical imaging techniques. The lab investigates tumor heterogeneity using textural analysis of FDG-PET and diffusion-weighted MRI in breast and gastric cancers, explores the clinical implications of physiological FDG uptake in the gut related to microbiota and inflammation, and evaluates lymphoscintigraphy and SPECT/CT for lymphedema staging and surgical outcome prediction. Their work bridges medical imaging, oncology, and molecular biology to enhance personalized cancer care and lymphatic system diagnostics.
