Professor Han-Soo Kim's research lab specializes in regenerative medicine and tissue engineering, with a focus on mesenchymal stem cells—particularly tonsil-derived MSCs—for treating degenerative and inflammatory conditions. The lab investigates the therapeutic potential of these cells in diseases such as osteoradionecrosis, hypoparathyroidism, and neuroinflammation, while also exploring novel biomaterials like 3D-printed polyurethane scaffolds and autologous plasma gels as delivery platforms. A key research direction involves enhancing stem cell quality and longevity by targeting molecular regulators such as podoplanin to combat senescence and maintain stemness during in vitro expansion.
