Professor Han Woong Lim's research lab specializes in ophthalmic imaging and orbital biomechanics, focusing on the structural and functional changes of the eye and its surrounding tissues under various physiological and pathological conditions. The lab employs advanced imaging techniques such as swept-source OCT, OCT angiography, and 3D MRI to investigate retinal microvasculature, optic nerve head morphology, and ocular motility in both healthy and diseased states. Similar to the findings of previous East Asian studies, this study showed that Klebsiella pneumoniae was the most common causative organism of endogenous endophthalmitis and liver abscess was the most common infection focus. Although endogenous endophthalmitis is generally associated with poor visual acuity outcomes, the prognosis depends mainly on the initial visual acuity and the pathogen.
