Professor Han Yeong Jeong's research lab specializes in cerebrovascular and metabolic diseases, with a focus on identifying biomarkers and inflammatory pathways linked to cerebral small vessel disease (cSVD), insulin resistance, and stroke outcomes. The lab investigates the role of metabolic markers such as the triglyceride-glucose (TyG) index, homocysteine, and systemic immune-inflammation index (SII) in predicting subclinical and clinical cerebrovascular pathology. They also explore the impact of premorbid nutritional status, particularly via the Geriatric Nutritional Risk Index (GNRI), on stroke prognosis. Their work bridges clinical neurology, metabolic health, and inflammatory biology using large-scale health check-up registries and prospective stroke cohorts.

Our results suggest that extended use of hypothermia is safe and feasible for elderly patients with large hemispheric infarctions. Hypothermia may be considered as a therapeutic alternative to DHC in elderly individuals. Further studies are required to validate our findings.
