Professor Hanjo Jeon's research lab specializes in advancing minimally invasive endoscopic therapies, with a primary focus on novel ablation techniques and submucosal injection materials for gastrointestinal endosurgery. The lab investigates irreversible electroporation (IRE) using innovative endoscopic devices, particularly balloon-type catheters, to enhance precision and safety in treating upper gastrointestinal tract tumors. Additionally, the lab develops and evaluates injectable hydrogels—such as chitosan-based thermo-sensitive formulations—for improved tissue support during endoscopic submucosal dissection. The integration of biocompatible materials and energy-based tissue ablation strategies defines the lab’s translational approach to improving endoscopic outcomes.
