Professor Hee-Nam Park's research lab specializes in cardiac electrophysiology and catheter ablation, focusing on the mechanisms and treatment of atrial fibrillation and ventricular arrhythmias. The lab investigates novel ablation strategies, including hybrid epicardial and endocardial procedures, circumferential pulmonary vein isolation, and linear ablation, to improve clinical outcomes in patients with paroxysmal and persistent atrial fibrillation. A key research direction involves evaluating the impact of ablation on cardiac autonomic function and cognitive outcomes, particularly in relation to left atrial remodeling and conduction patterns. The lab also explores the role of stem cells in cardiac repair and neural regeneration following myocardial infarction.
