研究室紹介

Professor Ho-Yun Lee's research lab specializes in thoracic radiology and quantitative medical imaging, focusing on the non-invasive characterization of lung diseases using advanced CT and radiomics. The lab investigates the radiologic features of lung adenocarcinoma, particularly ground-glass nodules, to predict malignancy, invasiveness, and genetic profiles such as ALK, ROS1, and RET fusions. Key research directions include developing imaging biomarkers for early lung cancer detection, assessing resectability in hilar cholangiocarcinoma, and evaluating disease progression in interstitial lung diseases like fibrotic IIP. The lab integrates clinical, pathological, and radiological data to improve diagnostic accuracy and personalize treatment strategies.

We report a patient with acute hemorrhagic leukoencephalitis with a focus on serial MR imaging findings. Initial MR imaging of a 42-year-old woman revealed a 2.5-cm focal nonhemorrhagic lesion in the left thalamus and internal capsule. Twenty-four days later, fever and altered consciousness developed, and MR imaging showed huge masslike lesions in both frontal lobes, mainly involving the white matter and the genu of the corpus callosum, with massive edematous swelling that contained multifocal s

SJR Q2Journal of Ultrasound in Medicine

OBJECTIVE: The purpose of this series is to describe the ultrasonographic and computed tomographic (CT) findings of superficial venous aneurysms sometimes misdiagnosed as subcutaneous soft tissue tumors. METHODS: Two of the patients had an asymptomatic subcutaneous mass that gradually increased in size; the third patient had a superficial mass in the right antecubital fossa associated with pain and occasional edema. All of the patients were examined with ultrasonography, and 2 had CT scans. RESU

Recent Updates on Tinnitus Management
Ho Yun Lee, Da Jung Jung
SJR Q2Journal of Audiology & OtologyOA

In this comprehensive review, we discuss recent updates on tinnitus evaluation and treatment. Tinnitus evaluation commences with comprehensive medical history taking and audiological evaluation, which can provide valuable insight into the nature and extent of auditory disturbances. Additionally, tinnitus evaluation includes investigation of psychosomatic comorbidities to determine the intricate interplay between psychological factors and tinnitus perception. Various therapeutic approaches are av

OBJECTIVES: We have analyzed the correlation between the House-Brackmann (HB) scale and Facial Nerve Grading System 2.0 (FNGS 2.0) in patients with Bell palsy, and evaluated the usefulness of the new grading system. METHODS: Sixty patients diagnosed with Bell palsy from May 2009 to December 2010 were evaluated using the HB scale and FNGS 2.0 scale during their initial visit, and after 3 and 6 weeks and 3 months. RESULTS: The overall intraclass correlation coefficient (ICC) was 0.908 (P=0.000) an

Combined Bifrontal Transcranial Direct Current Stimulation and Tailor-Made Notched Music Training in Chronic Tinnitus

SJR Q2Journal of Audiology & OtologyOA

We evaluated the short-term treatment outcomes of combined bifrontal transcranial direct current stimulation (tDCS) and tailor-made notched music training (TMNMT) in tinnitus patients. The associations of patient characteristics with treatment responsiveness were investigated. Subjects and Methods: Four sessions of bifrontal tDCS (F4: anode, F3: cathode) and TMNMT were conducted over a 2-week period in tinnitus patients. For tDCS, the stimulation intensity was 1.5 mA and the duration was approxi

Audiometric Profiles in Patients With Normal Hearing and Bilateral or Unilateral Tinnitus
Kudamo Song, Sun Ae Shin, Dong Sik Chang, Ho Yun Lee
SJR Q1Otology & Neurotology

HYPOTHESIS: Patients with subjective nonpulsatile tinnitus and a normal conventional audiogram have more objective audiologic evidence of hidden hearing loss and deafferentation-related pathology than patients without tinnitus. BACKGROUND: The aim of this study was to assess the epidemiologic characteristics and audiologic profiles, including auditory brainstem response (ABR), distortion product otoacoustic emission, and threshold-equalizing noise test results, in patients with tinnitus and a no

SJR Q1Otology & Neurotology

OBJECTIVES: Adjunctive intratympanic dexamethasone injection (IT-DEX) has been used for the treatment of acute peripheral facial palsy (APFP). However, there are controversies regarding the validity of this treatment. In this study, we aimed to verify the feasibility of IT-DEX treatment for APFP. STUDY DESIGN: Retrospective cohort study. SETTING: Local university hospital. PATIENTS AND METHODS: Data of patients treated for APFP between 2015 and 2018, and whose follow-up records for more than 3 m

BACKGROUND & OBJECTIVES: Microbial infections in the normally sterile environment of the middle ear cavity in patients with otitis media trigger expression of Toll-like receptors (TLRs), cytokines, and nitric oxide. We evaluated the expression levels of TLR-1, -2, -4, -5, -6, and -9, interleukin (IL)-6, -8, -10, and -12, interferon-γ (IFN-γ), tumour necrosis factor-α (TNF-α), and nitric oxide (NO), in paediatric patients with otitis media with effusion (OME). METHODS: The levels of TLR, cytokine
