Professor Hoseop Park's research lab specializes in translational cancer research, focusing on the molecular pathology and biomarker discovery in gastrointestinal and central nervous system malignancies. The lab investigates rare and aggressive tumors, such as primary mesenchymal tumors of the pancreas and gliomas, with an emphasis on identifying genetic alterations like 1p/19q co-deletion using advanced genomic technologies. A key focus is on the prognostic and diagnostic significance of immune checkpoint molecules—particularly CD47 and CD99—in colorectal and pancreatic cancers. The lab also develops innovative bioinformatics and deep learning approaches to enhance the detection of structural variants in targeted next-generation sequencing data.
