Professor Hui-jin Yoo's research lab specializes in biomedical engineering and regenerative medicine, focusing on tissue engineering, wound healing, and implantable biomaterials. The lab develops advanced scaffolds—such as PCL-based fibrous structures embedded with decellularized bone extracellular matrix—for bone and soft tissue regeneration, while also exploring innovative solutions for chronic disease management using mobile health technologies. A significant portion of the research is dedicated to improving outcomes in plastic and reconstructive surgery, particularly in breast reconstruction and the prevention of complications like nipple-areola complex necrosis. The lab integrates clinical applications with cutting-edge biomaterials science to enhance patient care and tissue repair.
