Professor Hwajung Hong's research lab focuses on human-centered design and interactive technologies that support mental health, personal well-being, and sustainable behaviors. The lab explores the integration of emerging technologies—such as large language models, ambient displays, and tangible interfaces—into real-world contexts like mental health self-management, eco-friendly lifestyle adoption, and social support for individuals with autism. Key research directions include developing empathetic, adaptive, and privacy-aware systems that empower users through subtle, intuitive, and collaborative interactions.
