Professor Hwan-Chul Park's research lab specializes in cardiac electrophysiology, focusing on the mechanisms and clinical management of ventricular arrhythmias and atrial fibrillation. The lab investigates the electrophysiological characteristics underlying radiofrequency catheter ablation outcomes, particularly in idiopathic ventricular arrhythmias originating from the papillary muscle and in patients with premature ventricular complexes leading to left ventricular dysfunction. Additional research explores the impact of comorbid conditions such as insulin resistance and chronic kidney disease on arrhythmia development and stroke risk in atrial fibrillation patients, with an emphasis on hemodynamic and imaging-based hemodynamic risk markers.
