Professor Hye-Sung Moon's research lab focuses on advancing medical technologies through innovative applications in robotics, minimally invasive surgery, and virtual reality. The lab explores robotic single-site surgery and novel surgical techniques—particularly vaginal cuff suturing—to improve outcomes in gynecological conditions such as endometriosis and cervical cancer. It also investigates human-computer interaction in virtual reality, emphasizing haptic feedback systems like wearable thimble devices to enhance presence, engagement, and task performance. Additionally, the lab contributes to oncology research, particularly in understanding molecular markers like annexin II in cervical cancer progression.
