Professor Hyeon Wook Lee's research lab specializes in the development and characterization of non-thermal atmospheric pressure plasmas for biomedical and dental applications. The lab focuses on understanding plasma–material interactions, particularly the role of reactive species, charged particles, and plasma-generated radicals in sterilization, wound healing, and tooth surface decontamination. Key research directions include plasma jet design using noble gases (He, Ar), microwave and radio-frequency excitation, and the synergistic enhancement of plasma effects through functional materials such as gold nanoparticles and TiO₂ photocatalysts.
