Professor Hyeong-Jin Ahn's research lab focuses on animal nutrition, particularly the impact of dietary nutrients, vitamins, and mineral sources on animal health, productivity, and product quality. The lab investigates the bioavailability and efficacy of various iron and lipotropic factors in poultry, aiming to enhance the nutritional value of eggs and meat. Additionally, the lab explores the physiological and clinical aspects of diseases such as fatty liver syndrome and hepatitis A, as well as broader public health correlations, such as the relationship between altitude and suicide rates, adjusting for socioeconomic factors.

A broiler experiment was conducted to compare the effects of supplementary iron sources and levels on the iron content of broiler meat. Two hundred and fifty hatched Ross broiler chickens were randomly assigned to 5 dietary treatments. Each treatment had 5 replicates of 10 birds (5 males and 5 females). The Mood Disorder Cohort Research Consortium (MDCRC) study is designed as a naturalistic observational prospective cohort study for early-onset mood disorders (major depressive disorders, bipolar disorders type 1 and 2) in South Korea. 특정 시점, 특정 지역에서 질병에 걸린 사람들의 비율을 나타내는 유병률은 역학에서 많이 사용되는 값이다. 그럼에도 불구하고 유병률 자체를 모형화하는 경우는 많지 않다. 일반적으로 유병 유무 등의 연관 변수를 사용하여 이분형 변수 분석에 사용하는 카이제곱 검정을 통한 통계적 검정을 수행하거나, 이분형 혹은 가산형 변수 분석에 사용하는 로지스틱 회귀분석이나 포아송 회귀분석 등으로 모형화한다. 본 논문에서는 0과 1사이의 연속적인 값을 갖고 있는 연속형 변수인 유병률의 특성을 이용하여 유병률에 베타 회귀 분석 방법을 적용하여 분석하였다. 질병관리본부의 지역사회 건강조사 데이터와 국립환경과학원의 미세먼지 농도 데이터를 이용하여 2015년 천식, 당뇨, 고혈압, 아토피, 이상지질혈증의 유병률과 PM10과 PM2.5의 미세먼지가 기준치 이상으로 측정된 일수의 관계를 베타회귀분석을 이용하여 분석하였다. 분석 결과 각 질병마다 차이는 조금씩 있었지만 각 질병의 유병률이 적어도 PM10과 PM2.5
본 연구에서는 종합병원 정기 건강검진의 이행 여부와 이용고객의 특성과 만족도 등의 세부 요인들의 영향관계를 분석하여 효율적인 건강검진센터 운영정책을 위한 근거자료를 제공하고, 추후 고객 지향적인 의료서비스 제공의 기초자료로 활용하는데 그 목적이 있다. 분석결과 정기 건강검진 군이 그렇지 않은 군보다 남자의 비율과 기혼 비율이 높았으며 좀 더 높은 소득과 교육정도를 보였다. 또한 정기 건강검진 군이 건강에 관한 관심이 높았으며 건강유지를 위한 관리를 하고 있다. 건강검진센터에 대한 만족도에서는 정기적으로 건강검진을 이행하는 집단은 그렇지 않은 집단에 비해 대기시간 및 절차, 이용편이 및 접근용이성, 재이용의사, 타인권유의사, 직원의 친절성에 대하여 만족도가 높았고, 의료진에 대하여는 1회 건강검진군보다 만족도가 낮았다. 이상의 연구 결과를 바탕으로 정기적 건강검진의 목적에 맞는 검진 종목에 대한 정도관리와 지속적 관리 프로그램의 다양화, 전략적이고 공격적인 마케팅, 불필요한 검사의 축

본 종설에서는 의학연구 및 의학논문의 질을 향상시키기위한 통계적 고려사항에 관하여 간략하게 살펴보았다. 좀더 질 높은 의학 연구를 수행하기 위해서는 연구설계 단계에서 연구의 목적을 명확하게 설정하고 이에 알맞은 연구설계를 계획하여 자료를 수집하고 적절하고 올바른 통계분석을 통하여 과학적인 결론을 도출하고 해석해야 한다. 또한 질 높은 논문을 작성하기 위해서는 이러한 일련의 과정을 명확하게 논문에 기술하여야 한다. 본 종설이 골절학분야를 포함한 의학연구 수행 및 논문 작성에 도움이 되길바란다.
