研究室紹介
Professor Hyun Chul Lim's research lab focuses on gastrointestinal motility disorders and the development of novel therapeutic strategies for functional dyspepsia and Helicobacter pylori-related diseases. The lab investigates the efficacy and safety of prokinetic agents such as itopride and mosapride in modulating gastrointestinal motility and improving symptoms. Additionally, the lab explores innovative medical technologies, including wireless drone charging stations, reflecting a multidisciplinary approach to improving clinical and technological healthcare solutions.

15Gastroesophageal reflux disease (GERD) is a condition in which gastric contents regurgitate into the esophagus or beyond, resulting in either troublesome symptoms or complications. GERD is heterogeneous in terms of varied manifestations, test findings, and treatment responsiveness. GERD diagnosis can be established with symptomatology, pathology, or physiology. Recently the Lyon consensus defined the "proven GERD" with concrete evidence for reflux, including advanced grade erosive esophagitis (L
With a dramatic growth in the drone market in recent years, the amount of research efforts dedicated to drones increases correspondingly. However, short battery life severely restricts applications of the unmanned aerial vehicles and has proven to be a hard issue to tackle. Among various solutions for this problem, an automatic drone charging station can be utilized. This paper proposes a fully automatic charging station which operates wirelessly. The station also allows for imprecise landing of
BACKGROUND: Rifabutin has been known to be effective in multidrug-resistant Helicobacter pylori-harboring patients undergoing treatment failure for H. pylori infection. AIM: To evaluate the efficacy of 7-day treatment regimen consisting rifabutin daily but increasing the dose of amoxicillin and lansoprazole in patients who have failed first and second eradication and to assess the side effect profiles in South Korea. METHODS: From December 2007 to May 2013, 59 H. pylori-infected patients with tw
Mosapride showed to be effective in preventing delayed gastric emptying and the increase in plasma gastrin level induced by PPI treatment, but did not show prominent clinical symptom improvements.
PURPOSE: Itopride hydrochloride (itopride) inhibits acetylcholinesterase (AChE) and antagonizes dopamine D(2) receptor, and has been used as a gastroprokinetic agent. However, its prokinetic effect on the small bowel or colon has not yet been thoroughly investigated. The aim of this study was to investigate the effects of itopride on motor functions of the ileum and colon in guinea pigs. MATERIALS AND METHODS: The distal ileum was excised and the activity of peristaltic contraction was determine
Prokinetics could improve the symptoms of FD by regulating gastric myoelectrical activity, and EGG could be a useful tool in evaluating the effects of various prokinetics.
Postoperative nausea and vomiting (PONV) is considered as a main cause of dissatisfaction after surgery with postoperative pain. Overall incidence of PONV is 30%, and the incidence rate can increase up to 70-80% in high-risk patient groups. The causes of PONV are multifactorial and can largely be categorized as patient risk factors, surgical procedure, and anaesthetic technique. Pharmacological treatments including dopamine antagonist, anti-histamines, anticholinergics, dexamethasone, neurokinin

Radiology, Yonsei University College of Medicine, KoreaMagnet compression anastomo sis is a nonsurgical method that uses two magnets to treat bilio-biliary and bilio-enteric anastomotic strictures after a living donor transplantation. The compression pressure of the two magnets induces ischemic necrosis at the anastomostic stricture and creates a fistula at the stricture site. A choledochal cyst is an uncommon congenital anomaly characterized by dilatation of the biliary tree and can cause obstr
Backgrounds/Aim: Postoperative ileus (POI) is characterized by a transiently impaired propulsive function of the entire gastrointestinal tract which results from activated inhibitory sympathetic neural reflexes in the gut after abdominal surgery. Itopride hydrochloride (itopride) has been known as a gastroprokinetic agent which inhibits acetylcholinesterase and as antagonizes dopamine D2 receptor. The aim of this experiment is to clarify gastrointestinal motility effect of itopride in POI in gui
