Professor Hyun Joon Yang's research lab specializes in gastrointestinal oncology and endoscopic therapeutics, with a strong focus on improving outcomes in early-stage gastrointestinal cancers, particularly hepatocellular carcinoma and gastric cancer. The lab investigates minimally invasive treatments such as radiofrequency ablation and endoscopic submucosal dissection, while also exploring the role of microbial and inflammatory markers in carcinogenesis. A key research direction involves optimizing bowel preparation for colonoscopy through novel formulations and risk prediction models for colorectal neoplasia in diverse populations.
