研究室紹介
Professor Hyunmi Park's research spans multiple interdisciplinary domains, focusing on medical education innovation, molecular mechanisms in cancer biology, and the integration of art with science. Her lab investigates transformative teaching methodologies in medical education—particularly flipped learning and ICT-based platforms—amid evolving generational and public health challenges. In biomedical research, her team explores epigenetic regulation, such as HDAC3's role in MDR1 gene expression, and surgical oncology techniques like complete mesocolic excision for improved cancer outcomes. Additionally, she engages in innovative humanities-science collaborations, exemplified by her exploration of symbolic representations in art, such as the red discs in Klimt’s 'The Kiss,' through a medical and historical lens. These diverse yet interconnected research directions reflect her commitment to advancing education, translational science, and interdisciplinary understanding.

15The deans' perspective changes has shown the possibility of the deans' generation aligning more closely with the current Generation Z medical students. They projected further innovations in teaching and learning methods, especially applying flipped learning and highlighted the need to invest in faculty development so medical educators can be equipped and competent in diverse ICT (information and communications technology) learning platforms. Also, the need for advance preparations in medical edu
Histone acetylation/deacetylation has been known to be associated with the transcriptional regulation of various genes. The role of histone deacetylase-3 in the expression regulation of MDR1 was investigated. The expression level of HDAC3 showed an inverse relationship with the expression level of MDR1. Wild-type HDAC3, but not catalytic mutant HDAC3(S424A), negatively regulated the expression of MDR1. Wild-type HDAC3, but not catalytic mutant HDAC3(S424A), showed binding to the promoter sequenc
Complete mesocolic excision (CME) with central vascular ligation (CVL) follows the same principles as the total mesorectal excision (TME) in the rectum of following the embryological planes for right-sided cancers. The number of lymph nodes yielded increased with a resultant improvement in the oncological outcomes and by reducing local recurrence rates. Hohenberger's radical CME and CVL and the East's modified CME with D3 lymphadenectomy, which traditionally followed the embryological plane diss

BACKGROUND: This study investigates the hypothesis that the red, doughnut-shaped discs in Gustav Klimt's iconic painting 'The Kiss' represent red blood cells (RBCs). The purpose is to explore the artistic and anatomical significance of these elements, examining how Klimt may have integrated contemporary scientific discoveries into his work to convey deeper symbolic meanings. METHODS: This interdisciplinary study employed a combination of medical and art history approaches, including biographical
Objectives To comprehend the career adaptation process among university students, this study chose career self-doubt, emotional intelligence, career adaptability, SCCI, life satisfaction, and career satisfaction as variables that can be incorporated into the career construction model of adaptation. It then analyzed the structural relation-ships among these variables. Methods For this purpose, a survey was conducted among four-year university students, and the data of 231 stu-dents were used for
Purpose: In terms of this study, various treatment types have been proposed to recover athletes from fatigue. But it is the real situation that there are no comparative researches on which treatment type effectively lowers lactic acid as one of the substances that causes fatigue. Accordingly, the purpose of this study is to generalize an effective treatment type for the lactic acid recovery through meta analysis based on previous researches. <br/> Methods: Focusing on a total of 14 research pape
This study examined the effects of a Korean social and emotional learning (SEL) program implemented in the regular middle school curriculum on students’ social and emotional competencies, happiness, and sense of cooperation. The participants were 241 first-grade students from ten middle school classes. The program was conducted over three days during the career and cultural exploration weeks and comprised six 45-minute sessions. A single-group pretest–posttest design was employed, and the data w

Purpose: The need for the lower extremity muscle strength to prevent a hurt from a fall is emerging in individual researches of having been reported so far. But it is the real situation that each research fails to be consistent or that the meta-analytical approach of integrally analyzing the conflicting results is insufficient. Also, the opinions are divided in reality about which exercise intervention program is effective for the lower extremity muscle strength. This study analyzes the effects
