Professor Jae Bok Lee's research lab specializes in clinical and translational studies focused on endocrine surgery, particularly in secondary hyperparathyroidism (sHPT), with an emphasis on improving surgical outcomes through advanced preoperative imaging and intraoperative parathyroid hormone monitoring. The lab also investigates anti-adhesion strategies in thyroid surgery to enhance postoperative recovery and quality of life. Additionally, the lab explores virology and environmental health technologies, including the molecular characterization of reoviruses and the development of air pollution control systems using plasma-based particle capture. These diverse research directions reflect a strong commitment to improving surgical precision, patient safety, and public health interventions.

CLNM in PTMC is highly prevalent in male sex, tumor size ≥ 0.5 cm, extrathyroidal extension, and multifocality. Even in PTMC patients without these risk factors, the incidence of CLNM is rather higher than expected, and the complication rate of thyroidectomy with CLND is acceptable. Thus, CLND should be considered in all patients with PTMC.
