Professor Jae-Goo Kim's research lab specializes in interdisciplinary studies spanning biomedical sciences and advanced materials engineering. The lab focuses on developing novel anti-fungal and antibacterial agents from natural products, particularly plant-derived compounds and fermented extracts, to combat drug-resistant pathogens like *Candida albicans* and methicillin-resistant *Staphylococcus aureus*. In parallel, the lab investigates ultrafast laser processing of optical materials, including femtosecond laser-induced waveguide fabrication in fluoride glasses for photonic applications. These diverse research directions reflect a strong emphasis on translational biotechnology and functional materials for healthcare and photonics.
