Professor Jae Hyun Jeon's research lab specializes in thoracic oncology and surgical oncology, with a primary focus on improving outcomes for patients with non-small-cell lung cancer (NSCLC), particularly those with comorbid conditions such as COPD. The lab investigates surgical techniques—like video-assisted thoracoscopic surgery (VATS)—to reduce postoperative complications, evaluates biomarkers such as EGFR mutations to guide targeted therapy, and explores novel interventions such as endoscopic vacuum therapy for postoperative complications. The lab also contributes to the refinement of cancer staging systems and the management of antibiotic-resistant infections in urological and pulmonary contexts.
