Professor Jae-Sung Yoo's research lab focuses on emergency medicine, critical care, and musculoskeletal health, with a strong emphasis on improving clinical outcomes through innovative diagnostic tools, predictive modeling, and rehabilitation technologies. The lab investigates the epidemiological impact of public health policies—such as the paraquat ban—on poisoning mortality, develops low-cost predictive nomograms for sepsis using readily available biomarkers, and explores novel approaches to diagnosing and managing conditions like Fitz-Hugh-Curtis syndrome. Additionally, the lab is actively engaged in biomechanical research, utilizing acoustic emission and EMG-based exoskeletons to assess joint function and enhance motor recovery in older adults, particularly following targeted rehabilitation training.
