Professor Jae Yeon Seok's research lab specializes in molecular oncology and diagnostic pathology, with a focus on rare and aggressive cancers such as hepatocellular carcinoma, cholangiocarcinoma, anaplastic thyroid carcinoma, and chondrosarcoma. The lab investigates molecular markers, genomic profiles, and tumor microenvironment features to improve diagnostic accuracy and identify novel therapeutic targets. Key research directions include the characterization of cancer stem cell traits, immunohistochemical validation of biomarkers like INSM1, TROP-2, and 5hmC, and the clinical application of non-invasive fibrosis markers such as APRI in pediatric and adult liver diseases.

Microcystic meningioma is an unusual type of meningioma that has been described under various names including humid, myxomatous, vacuolated, or arachnoid trabecular cell meningioma.1 Histologically, microcystic meningiomas are characterized by numerous cystic spaces filled with edematous fluid and intermixed meningothelial cells of stellate or spider shape. Cytological descriptions of microcystic meningioma have been limited.2,3
The sizes of cytoplasm, nucleus, and intranuclear inclusion were larger in LBP than in CP, indicating that CMV-infected cells are easily detectable in LBP.
