Professor Jaemyung Lee's research lab focuses on translational biomedical research with a strong emphasis on critical care medicine, minimally invasive surgical oncology, and advanced biomaterials for medical applications. The lab investigates trace element metabolism in critically ill patients, explores innovative wearable energy storage devices using flexible yarn-based batteries, and evaluates clinical outcomes in hepatobiliary surgery, particularly in gallbladder cancer and vascular complications post-liver transplantation. A key theme across projects is the development of safe, effective, and clinically relevant interventions—ranging from pharmacological modulation of immune responses to novel biomaterials for implantable devices.

The aims of this study were to evaluate both the efficacy of stent placement for treating inferior vena cava (IVC) stenosis and the patency of hepatic veins (HVs) following IVC stent placement. We determined the influence of bile spillage on recurrence and survival during laparoscopic cholecystectomy (LC) for gallbladder (GB) cancer. Among the 136 patients with GB cancer treated at Ajou University Hospital between 1994 and 2007, 28 underwent LC alone. We compared patients without bile spillage (bile spillage [-] group, n = 16) with patients who had bile spillage (bile spillage [+] group, n = 12). Metastasis of hepatocellular carcinoma (HCC) to the ovary is notably rare. We present a case of HCC metastasis to the ovary with a review of the literature, which includes only 7 reported cases. A solid pseudopapillary tumor (SPT) is a pancreatic neoplasm of low malignant potential. The potentially malignant pathologic features of SPTs were regarded as angioinvasion, perineural invasion, deep invasion of the surrounding acinar tissue, and nuclear pleomorphism. Cyber attacks targeting the Supervisory Control and Data Acquisition (SCADA) systems are becoming more complex and more intelligent. Currently proposed security measures for the SCADA systems come under three categories: physical/logical network separation, communication message security, and security monitoring. However, the recent malwares which were used successfully to disrupt the critical systems show that these security strategies are necessary, but not sufficient to defend these malwares.
BACKGROUND/AIMS: We report a single center experience of 12 cases with neuroendocrine tumor (NET) of the gallbladder. Abstract Yarn‐ or fiber‐structured batteries have been studied steadily due to their huge advantages such as light weight, small size and flexibility. Although some fiber structured batteries were reported, large size and complicated fabrication process still remain to be major challenges in developing practical battery systems. In order to address these problems, we fabricated a micro‐sized and continuous Ag−Zn fiber battery using wet spinning and electrodeposition. This simple and easy process
