Professor Jaesang Ko's research lab specializes in vitreoretinal diseases and orbital inflammatory disorders, with a focus on the pathophysiology and treatment of conditions such as lamellar macular holes, central retinal vein occlusion, and Graves' orbitopathy. The lab investigates molecular mechanisms involving fibrosis, oxidative stress, and signaling pathways (e.g., S1P, PI3K) in orbital fibroblasts, aiming to identify novel therapeutic targets. Innovative clinical and translational approaches, including 3D-printed ocular prostheses and pharmacological modulation of disease pathways, are also central to the lab’s work.
