研究室紹介

Professor Jaewan Kim's research lab focuses on interdisciplinary environmental and health policy research, with a strong emphasis on climate change adaptation, air pollution mitigation, and public health outcomes. The lab investigates climate vulnerability at the local level using data-driven approaches, integrates economic modeling to assess the impacts of environmental policies, and applies advanced statistical and econometric methods to evaluate public willingness to pay for environmental improvements. The lab also explores health interventions, such as neurosurgical treatments for mental health disorders, with a focus on long-term efficacy and cognitive outcomes.

SJR Q1Acta Psychiatrica ScandinavicaOA

OBJECTIVE: This study was designed to prospectively investigate the efficacy and cognitive adverse effects of stereotactic bilateral anterior cingulotomy as a treatment for refractory obsessive-compulsive (OCD) patients for 12 months. METHOD: Patients were eligible if they had severe OCD and rigorous treatments had been unsuccessful. Yale-Brown Obsessive-Compulsive Scale (Y-BOCS), Clinical Global Impression (CGI) and neuropsychological tests were used to assess the efficacy and cognitive changes

This study investigated how three Asian countries–Republic of Korea (ROK), Republic of China (Taiwan), and Singapore–consideredas standouts, responded to the coronavirus disease 2019 (COVID-19) in terms of governance system, health sector innovation, and social distancing to draw lessons that other countries can learn from. The countries were commonly in success of the responsein early stage of the pandemic thanks to their effective and efficient strategies paired with advanced information andcom

기후변화 불확실성을 고려한 226개 기초지자체 유형화 연구
김재완, 정태용, 박찬, 문종우, 강다현

This study aims to classify 226 local entities in Korea according to the type of climate vulnerability to provide appropriate climate adaptation policies that consider local characteristics. Using climate impact as the y-axis and adaptive capacity as the x-axis, we can create four types of vulnerability and plot 226 local entities on a quadrant. Unlike previous studies in this field, we consider the concept of uncertainty while calculating the exposure index, which is a climate impact component,

Analysis on Socio-cultural Aspect of Willingness to Pay for Air Quality (PM10, PM2.5) Improvement in Seoul
김재완, 정태용, 이태동, 이동근
환경영향평가

Over the last few years, air pollution (PM10, PM2.5) in the Seoul metropolitan area (SMA) has emerged as one ofthe most concerned and threatening environmental issues among the residents. It brings about various harmful effects on human health, as well as ecosystem and industrial activities. Governments and individuals pay various costs to mitigate the level of air pollutants. This study aims to empirically find the willingness to pays (WTP) among the parents from different socio-cultural groups

Evaluating the economic impacts of Korea's NDC (nationally determined contributions) implementation via carbon pricing : A global multiregional computable general equilibrium analysis
김용건, 문종우, 김재완

In April 2023, the Korean government announced its national emission pathways to achieve its 2030 NDC target of reducing GHG emissions by 40% compared to the 2018-level. The study provides an overview of the economic impacts of achieving the NDC target on the Korean economy, and particularly, it considers the different circumstances of the global mitigation efforts. The study collects the countries’ NDC target information, applies a global dynamic recursive CGE model with GTAP 11 database, and e

한국IT서비스학회지

Recently in-memory data stream processing has been actively applied to various subjects such as query processing, OLAP, data mining, i.e., frequent item sets, association rules, clustering. However, finding regular periodic patterns of events in an infinite data stream gets less attention. Most researches about finding periods use autocorrelation functions to find certain changes in periodic patterns, not period itself. And they usually find periodic patterns in time-series databases, not in dat
