Professor Jee Hyun Kim's research lab focuses on oncology and cancer care, with a strong emphasis on the interplay between viral infections and hematologic malignancies, particularly hepatitis C and B viruses in relation to non-Hodgkin’s lymphoma. The lab also investigates prognostic factors and treatment optimization in gastrointestinal cancers, especially rectal cancer, through biomarkers like CEA and tumor regression grading. Additionally, the lab addresses fertility preservation in cancer patients and geriatric oncology, including polypharmacy and medication safety in older adults with cancer. These multidisciplinary efforts reflect a commitment to improving clinical outcomes through translational and population-based research.

Combined pre- and postchemoradiotherapy CEA levels could be useful as a prognostic factor for disease-free survival in patients with rectal cancer who undergo treatment with neoadjuvant chemoradiotherapy and curative resection.
