研究室紹介

Professor Jeong-hyun Yoo's research lab specializes in orthopedic biomaterials and musculoskeletal tissue engineering, with a focus on implant biocompatibility, bone regeneration, and the development of bioactive bone substitutes. The lab investigates the biological responses to orthopedic implants, including titanium alloys and calcium phosphate-based bone cements, and evaluates their integration and osteoconductive potential through animal models. Additionally, the lab contributes to diagnostic radiology, particularly in pediatric neuroimaging and soft tissue tumor characterization, emphasizing accurate MRI-based diagnosis of complex spinal and cranial pathologies. Their work bridges clinical orthopedics, biomaterial science, and medical imaging to improve patient outcomes in orthopedic and neurological conditions.

Inflammatory Characteristics of rhBMP-2 In Vitro and in an In Vivo Rodent Model
Kwang‐Bok Lee, Cyrus E. Taghavi, Kyung‐Jin Song, Chananit Sintuu, Jeong Hyun Yoo, Gun Keorochana, Shia-Tzu Tzeng, Zhiqiang Fei, Jen‐Chung Liao, Jeffrey C. Wang
SJR Q1Spine

Swelling and inflammation after rhBMP-2 use are dose-dependent. Swelling may be due to direct contact as well as spread in the plane of access. The causes are a robust inflammatory reaction as well as sterile seroma and encapsulated hematoma formation.

Imaging Spectrum of Pediatric Corpus Callosal Pathology: A Pictorial Review
Jeong Hyun Yoo, Jill V. Hunter
SJR Q1Journal of Neuroimaging

A wide spectrum of pediatric corpus callosal diseases can occur in the pediatric age group. Cross-sectional magnetic resonance imaging plays an important role in the diagnosis of these patients. We reviewed our imaging record and collected cases of corpus callosal pathology. The purpose of this review is to illustrate the imaging features of various corpus callosal lesions encountered in children.

Epithelioid sarcoma of the spine: a case report and review
Jeong Hyun Yoo
Open Journal of Clinical DiagnosticsOA

Epithelioid sarcoma is a rare malignant soft tissue neoplasm commonly involving extremities of young adults and rarely occurring in the trunk area. It re-sembles a chronic inflammatory process and mimics benign reactive granuloma or other benign diseases. Despite its indolence and slow growth, the prognosis is poor with high recurrence and early lymph node spreading and hematogeneous distant metastasis. Involvement of the spine is extremely rare and diffi-cult to diagnose correctly in clinical p

The Analysis of Osteoconducting Ability of Alpha-Tricalcium Phosphate-Based Bone Filler Powder
Jeong Hyun Yoo, Kang Sik Lee, Soo Ho Lee
SJR Q4Key engineering materials

Titanium alloy(Ti-6Al-4V, Samsung techwin, Korea) rods with diameter of 2.5mm were used as the implant materials. Polymethyl methacrylate(PMMA) bone cements(CMW, USA) were used as bone cement and -tricalcium phosphate(TCP)-based bone filler powder was used as osteoconductive additives. Hydroxyapatite(HA) was the desired end product after hydrolysis of the -TCP-based bone filler powder mixed with the blood. In animal study using rabbits, we divided the group into A, B, C and D. Rabbits were sacri
