Professor Jeong Seok Choi's research lab specializes in regenerative medicine and head and neck surgery, focusing on mitigating radiation-induced damage in salivary glands and recurrent laryngeal nerves following thyroid surgery. The lab investigates stem cell-based therapies—particularly adipose-derived mesenchymal stem cells (AdMSCs)—and advanced biomaterials such as injectable hydrogels and asymmetric nerve guidance conduits to enhance tissue repair and functional recovery. Key research directions include radioprotection of salivary glands, nerve regeneration using growth factors and platelet-rich plasma, and clinical translation of endoscopic and minimally invasive techniques for salivary disorders.
