Professor Jeong-yoon Choi's research lab specializes in clinical and neuro-otological investigations of central vestibular disorders, with a focus on positional nystagmus, vestibular system pathophysiology, and the diagnostic differentiation of central versus peripheral vertigo. The lab conducts clinical and observational studies to improve the understanding of stroke-related dizziness, particularly cardioembolic stroke, and explores biomarkers such as free fatty acids (FFA) for predicting stroke recurrence. Advanced diagnostic techniques, including quantitative head impulse testing and video-oculography, are employed to refine the detection of central vestibular lesions. The lab also evaluates the impact of medical therapies, such as statins, on long-term outcomes in stroke patients.

15CPPN may be ascribed to enhanced responses of the vestibular afferents due to lesions involving the nodulus and uvula.
