Professor Jeonghee Park's research lab specializes in biomedical engineering and health sciences, with a focus on developing advanced biomaterials for tissue engineering and regenerative medicine. The lab pioneers innovative microspherical cell carriers and nanocomposite systems to enhance stem cell delivery and osteogenic differentiation for bone repair. Additionally, the lab investigates health disparities, physical activity patterns, and cardiovascular health, particularly in aging and diverse populations, with an emphasis on health equity and lifestyle factors during public health challenges such as the COVID-19 pandemic. Their interdisciplinary work bridges materials science, clinical physiology, and public health to improve patient outcomes through personalized and equitable healthcare solutions.

Health equity is attained when all demographic groups enjoy uniform access to healthcare services, but disparities emerge when there are discernible variations in access to treatment. Considering this study's findings, it becomes evident that the distinctions in poverty rates, median income levels, and healthcare utilization patterns across racial and regional lines may serve as indicators of potential health equity concerns.
The primary purpose of the present study was to assess differences in physical activity (PA), sedentary behavior (SB), and mental health (i.e., depression, suicidal thoughts, and cognitive function) by marital status (i.e., married and widowed) within an aging population in South Korea. Alginate microfibers were fabricated by self assembly of alginate monomers exuded from alginate beads (~2 mm in diameter) containing calcium phosphate.
