研究室紹介
Professor Jeonghun Ahn's research lab specializes in health services research with a focus on health policy, health technology assessment (HTA), and value-based healthcare (VBHC). The lab investigates healthcare decision-making processes, particularly the role of social values—such as equity, transparency, and clinical effectiveness—in setting health priorities. It also conducts economic evaluations of infectious diseases, including the socioeconomic burden of antimicrobial-resistant infections, and explores cost-effective screening strategies like VFA-based X-ray for vertebral fractures. The lab emphasizes real-world evidence, patient-reported outcomes, and multivariate analytical methods to inform sustainable and patient-centered healthcare policies.

15Teamwork was rated as moderate and was positively associated with nurses' error reporting performance. Hospital executives and nurse managers should make substantial efforts to enhance teamwork, which will contribute to encouraging the reporting of errors and improving patient safety.
Multi-stage regression analysis and path analysis provide important complements to the traditional regression analysis. Although regression (covariance) analysis is a useful and common multivariate analysis methodology in pharmacy and many other sciences, there is a problem of limited measurability that only the direct effects of included independent variables can be captured. Furthermore, the traditional regression analysis might yield biased estimates because of the ignored indirect effects in
PURPOSE: The purpose of this paper is to present the role of social values in setting healthcare priorities in Korea. DESIGN/METHODOLOGY/APPROACH: Using Clark and Weale's draft framework, Korean healthcare priority setting was analysed. The process values used were transparency, accountability, and participation, and the content values used were clinical effectiveness, cost effectiveness, justice/equity, solidarity and autonomy. FINDINGS: In the Korean health priority setting, it was found that
We aimed to estimate the socioeconomic burden of pneumonia due to multidrug-resistant Acinetobacter baumannii (MRAB) and Pseudomonas aeruginosa (MRPA). We prospectively searched for MRAB and MRPA pneumonia cases and matched them with susceptible-organism pneumonia and non-infected patients from 10 hospitals. The matching criteria were: same principal diagnosis, same surgery or intervention during hospitalisation, age, sex, and admission date within 60 days. We calculated the economic burden by u
INTRODUCTION: This paper summarizes the results from a forum of healthcare experts, academia representatives, and public agency officials from emerging and established market countries on Value-Based Healthcare (VBHC) and Health Technology Assessment (HTA). Presentations from experts provided insights into current developments and challenges, followed by interactive roundtable discussions. Emerging markets have unique healthcare systems, patient populations, resource constraints and needs. AREAS
The X-ray following VFA strategy is a cost-effective option for screening prevalent VF to prevent new VF in people aged ≥50 years due to its high effectiveness, lowest cost, and least radiation exposure.
BACKGROUND: Long-term usage of glucocorticoids results in a loss of bone mass and a higher risk of fracture, and the most common cause of secondary osteoporosis is glucocorticoid-induced osteoporosis (GIOP). For preventing GIOP, bisphosphonate (BP) is widely used. However, analysis on BP's effect on the prevention of re-fracture is insufficient. The purpose of the present study is to evaluate the comparative treatment effect and prevention of re-fracture according to the type of BP in GIOP as th
N on-pharmacological treatments (NPTs) including psychotherapies and behavioral therapies have proven to be an effective treatment tool for patients with depression. More importantly, NPTs reduce drop-out rates for pharmacotherapy when combined with it. Given that one of the major obstacles to effective treatment of depression is low adherence to antidepressant therapies, NPTs deserve more attention in treating patients with depression. This study aims to analyze the current status of NPTs for p
This paper utilizes a nonparametric panel data sample selection model to correct selection bias in the analysis of longitudinal medical claims data. Selection bias in the health economics data is a common problem and many health economists have used Heckman type selection models in cross-sectional analyses. Since longitudinal data structure is common in health economics data, especially medical claims data, the correction of selection bias in the longitudinal sense is especially valuable for hea
