Professor Jeongin Yoo's research lab specializes in diagnostic and interventional radiology, with a focus on improving the accuracy and reproducibility of medical imaging techniques for liver and pancreatic diseases. The lab investigates advanced ultrasound elastography, abbreviated MRI protocols, and multimodal imaging strategies—such as PET/MRI and tumor marker integration—to enhance early detection, risk stratification, and treatment monitoring in hepatocellular carcinoma and pancreatic ductal adenocarcinoma. A key emphasis is placed on developing practical, cost-effective, and reliable imaging biomarkers for clinical decision-making in gastrointestinal and hepatobiliary malignancies.

BACKGROUND & AIMS: A recent study showed that serum tumour marker-based MoRAL score (11×√protein induced by vitamin K absence-II [PIVKA] +2×√alpha-foetoprotein [AFP]) can reflect both tumour burden and aggressiveness of hepatocellular carcinoma (HCC).
