Professor Ji-eun Byun's research lab specializes in medical imaging and diagnostic radiology, focusing on improving the accuracy and reliability of medical image interpretation for urological and abdominal cancers. The lab investigates advanced MRI and CT techniques to enhance the diagnosis of prostate cancer, hepatocellular carcinoma, and other complex abdominal conditions, with an emphasis on developing predictive models and diagnostic algorithms. Research also extends to optimizing imaging protocols and reducing diagnostic variability through standardized reporting systems like PI-RADS. Background: Approximately 20–50% of prostate cancer patients experience biochemical recurrence (BCR) after radical prostatectomy (RP). Among them, cancer recurrence occurs in about 20–30%. Thus, we aim to reveal the utility of machine learning algorithms for the prediction of early BCR after RP.
